Refund policy
BAEJORA GROUP (PTY) LTD β RETURN & REFUND POLICY
Last Updated: 29 August 2026
At BAEJORA, operated by BAEJORA GROUP (PTY) LTD, we want customers to shop with confidence. This Return and Refund Policy explains how returns, defective products, cancellations, exchanges and refunds are handled.
This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Shipping Policy and is subject to applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
1. RETURN ELIGIBILITY
Where permitted by applicable law and this policy, customers may request a return of an eligible product.
To qualify for a standard change-of-mind return, the product should generally:
- Be unused and in substantially the same condition in which it was received;
- Include its original packaging where reasonably possible;
- Include supplied accessories, manuals, components and promotional items;
- Not have been damaged through misuse, negligence or improper handling; and
- Be accompanied by proof of purchase or the BAEJORA order number.
Different rules may apply where a product is defective, damaged, unsafe, incorrect or materially different from what was advertised.
2. CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS
For eligible products, BAEJORA offers customers a 7-day return request period from the date of delivery for change-of-mind returns, subject to the conditions and exclusions in this policy.
You must contact us before returning the product.
Approval of a change-of-mind return may depend on the product being unused, undamaged and suitable for resale.
This voluntary return period does not replace any additional rights available to consumers under applicable South African law.
3. DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
If your product arrives damaged, defective or does not function as reasonably expected, please contact BAEJORA Customer Support promptly.
Please provide:
- Your order number;
- Your full name;
- A description of the problem;
- Clear photographs of the product and packaging; and
- Video evidence where reasonably necessary to demonstrate the fault.
After assessment, BAEJORA will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law, which may include repair, replacement or refund, depending on the circumstances.
Nothing in this policy limits rights relating to defective or unsafe goods under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
4. INCORRECT PRODUCTS
If BAEJORA or its fulfilment partner sends you a product that is materially different from the product you ordered, contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Do not use the incorrect product unnecessarily.
Once verified, we will provide appropriate instructions and arrange a suitable remedy, which may include replacement with the correct product or a refund.
Where the error is ours or that of our fulfilment partner, the customer will not be required to bear reasonable return costs attributable to that error.
5. PRODUCTS DAMAGED DURING DELIVERY
If a parcel appears damaged when delivered, photograph the outer packaging before opening it where reasonably possible.
Please also photograph any damage to the product itself.
Report significant transit damage to BAEJORA Customer Support promptly so that we can investigate the matter with the courier or fulfilment provider.
6. PRODUCTS THAT GENERALLY CANNOT BE RETURNED FOR CHANGE OF MIND
Subject to applicable consumer law, certain products may not qualify for change-of-mind returns, particularly where they:
- Have been used, damaged or altered after delivery;
- Are missing significant parts or accessories;
- Are personalised or specially ordered;
- Cannot reasonably be resold for hygiene or health reasons after being opened;
- Are consumable or perishable;
- Have been damaged through misuse or incorrect installation; or
- Fall within another lawful exclusion.
These exclusions do not remove statutory rights relating to defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or materially misrepresented products.
7. ELECTRONICS AND BATTERY-POWERED PRODUCTS
BAEJORA sells products that may include electronic and rechargeable battery-powered devices.
Where an electronic product is returned as defective, we may reasonably assess or test the product to determine the nature of the fault.
Damage resulting from misuse, unauthorised modification, incorrect charging, incompatible power sources, liquid damage where the product is not designed for such exposure, physical abuse or use contrary to supplied instructions may not qualify as a manufacturing defect.
Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
8. HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN
Do not return a product without first contacting BAEJORA.
To request a return, contact BAEJORA Customer Support and provide your order number, reason for the return and any supporting photographs or videos requested.
Once the request has been assessed, we will provide return instructions where applicable.
Products must be returned only to the address provided by BAEJORA.
Important
Do not send a product directly to an overseas manufacturer, supplier or address shown on the original parcel unless BAEJORA specifically instructs you to do so.
Sending a product to an unauthorised address may significantly delay processing.
9. RETURN SHIPPING COSTS
Where a return results from a verified defective, damaged or incorrect product, BAEJORA will handle reasonable return costs as required by applicable law.
For an approved change-of-mind return, the customer may be responsible for the cost of returning the product unless otherwise stated or required by law.
Any applicable return-shipping responsibility will be communicated before the return is processed.
10. INSPECTION OF RETURNS
Returned products may be inspected after receipt.
For standard change-of-mind returns, we may verify that the product is in an eligible condition and that all relevant components and accessories have been returned.
A change-of-mind refund may be declined or appropriately adjusted where legally permitted if a product has been materially used, damaged or returned incomplete.
Different rules apply to statutory remedies for defective or non-conforming products.
11. REFUNDS
Once an approved return has been received and assessed, BAEJORA will process the applicable refund.
Where reasonably possible, refunds will be issued through the original payment method used for the purchase.
BAEJORA intends to use Stitch Express as a payment service provider. Actual processing times after a refund is initiated may depend on the payment method, payment provider and customer's financial institution.
We will notify you when your refund has been processed.
12. SHIPPING FEES AND REFUNDS
Original delivery charges may not necessarily be refundable for a voluntary change-of-mind return, except where required by applicable law or expressly agreed by BAEJORA.
Where a return results from an incorrect, defective or damaged product for which BAEJORA is responsible, applicable shipping costs will be handled in accordance with South African consumer law.
13. EXCHANGES
Where appropriate and stock is available, an eligible product may be exchanged.
If a replacement product is unavailable, another suitable remedy may be offered, including a refund where appropriate.
Replacement availability may depend on supplier inventory.
14. ORDER CANCELLATIONS
If you wish to cancel an order, contact BAEJORA as soon as possible.
If the order has not yet entered fulfilment or dispatch, we will make reasonable efforts to cancel it.
Once an order has been processed or dispatched, cancellation may no longer be operationally possible, and the applicable return procedure may need to be followed.
Any statutory cancellation rights available under South African law remain unaffected.
15. ONLINE TRANSACTIONS AND COOLING-OFF RIGHTS
Certain online transactions may qualify for statutory cooling-off rights under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), subject to the Act's requirements, time periods and exclusions.
Where ECTA provides a consumer with a mandatory right to cancel an eligible transaction, BAEJORA will honour that right.
Nothing in this policy is intended to replace or restrict those statutory protections.
16. SUPPLIER-FULFILLED PRODUCTS
Some BAEJORA products may be dispatched through third-party suppliers or fulfilment partners.
Even where a third party fulfils an order, customers who purchased through the BAEJORA website should contact BAEJORA first regarding returns, damaged products and refunds.
Customers should not independently negotiate a return with an overseas supplier unless specifically instructed by BAEJORA.
17. LOST RETURN PARCELS
Where customers are responsible for arranging return shipping, we recommend using a trackable delivery service and retaining proof of shipment.
BAEJORA cannot reasonably process a refund for a return that has not been received where the customer was responsible for the return shipment, subject to applicable consumer law and the circumstances of the case.
18. REFUND ABUSE AND FRAUD
BAEJORA reserves the right to investigate suspected return or refund fraud, including false claims regarding missing deliveries, deliberate product damage or repeated misuse of our returns process.
This does not affect legitimate consumer claims or statutory rights.
19. SOUTH AFRICAN CONSUMER RIGHTS
This policy is intended to operate consistently with applicable South African consumer legislation, including the:
Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA)
Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA)
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or replaces a consumer right that cannot legally be waived.
Where this policy conflicts with a mandatory statutory consumer protection, the applicable law will prevail.
